As the shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) becomes more pronounced, the U.S. government is making strides to support the transition. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released an updated list of EVs that qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit. This list includes eligible 2024 and 2025 model year EVs, focusing specifically on fully electric vehicles, rather than plug-in hybrids. This move follows stricter eligibility requirements, including new regulations effective January 1, 2024, around battery sourcing. Eligible EVs for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit:


1. 2024 Acura ZDX



The ZDX, Acura’s first electric model, shares a platform with the Honda Prologue. It offers up to 500 horsepower in its Type S variant and ranges between 288 to 325 miles on a charge. Prices start at $65,745, and all versions are eligible for the $7,500 credit.

2. 2025 Cadillac Lyriq



This sleek EV is based on GM’s Ultium platform and offers up to 314 miles of range with the single-motor version. Prices start at $59,990, with eligibility for the federal credit.

3. 2025 Cadillac Optiq



A compact SUV with 300 horsepower and a range of approximately 300 miles. Pricing starts at $54,390 before the tax credit.

4. 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV



Starting at $45,995, the Blazer EV offers a range between 230 to 320 miles, depending on configuration, and qualifies for the $7,500 federal credit.

5. 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV



The Equinox EV starts at $34,995 and offers up to 319 miles of range. After the credit, prices drop to $27,495 for the front-wheel-drive version.

6. 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV



With a range of up to 400 miles, this electric truck starts at $57,095 and qualifies for the full tax credit.

7. 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning



The F-150 Lightning starts at $49,875, with a range of 230 to 320 miles. All versions qualify for the full federal tax credit.

8. 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70



A luxury compact SUV offering up to 483 horsepower and 236 miles of range. Prices begin at $66,950, before the $7,500 credit.

9. 2024 Honda Prologue



With front-wheel or all-wheel drive, the Prologue offers up to 296 miles of range. Prices start at $48,795.

10. 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S



The first all-electric Wagoneer with 600 horsepower and 303 miles of range, priced from $66,995.

11. 2026 Kia EV6



This model provides up to 313 miles of range and will qualify for the federal credit. Pricing for 2026 hasn’t been released yet.

12. 2026 Kia EV9



A three-row electric SUV with a range of 230 to 304 miles, starting around $57,000 for the base model.

13. 2025 Tesla Cybertruck



The highly anticipated Cybertruck with a dual-motor option offers a range of up to 330 miles. Prices for the dual-motor variant start at $49,900.

14. 2025 Tesla Model 3



The Model 3 lineup qualifies for the tax credit, with the Long Range version offering up to 363 miles of range. Prices start at $39,990.

15. 2025 Tesla Model Y



Every Model Y is eligible for the full $7,500 credit, with prices starting at $44,630 and ranges up to 330 miles.

16. 2025 Tesla Model X



The Model X starts at $81,680 and offers a 335-mile range, making it eligible for the tax credit.


These electric vehicles are making waves in the market, and with the federal tax credit, they offer a compelling reason to switch to electric.
